ORIGIN OF UGANDA BUKALASI
These beans come from the village of Bukalasi on the western edges of Mt. Elgon, an extinct volcano located on the Uganda-Kenya border. While Uganda is the native home to Robusta coffees, the country is also an avid Arabica producer.
Ugandan beans are grown on the mountainside at high altitudes around 1500-2500 meters. The lower temperatures at higher elevations slow down coffee growth, allowing the bean to develop more complex sugars and tasting notes.

I tend to gravitate towards a darker roast, so I was a bit nervous to try a much lighter blend, but have to say that the Uganda Bukalasi roast from Hidaya Coffee exceeded my expectations! This is a spicy, flavorful blend that brews beautifully and is a terrific complement to a sweet breakfast pastry. This is now my preferred "weekend blend" when I can slow down and savor more than one cup without feeling the rush of the weekday. I'll be ordering more for sure!
This coffee is exceptional and works great in both espresso and pour over coffee. The beans were freshly roasted and tasted great and the delivery was pretty prompt. Will be purchasing again from this website.
