Uganda Bukalasi

These beans come from the village of Bukalasi on the western edges of Mt. Elgon, an extinct volcano located on the Uganda-Kenya border. While Uganda is the native home to Robusta coffees, the country is also an avid Arabica producer. Ugandan beans are grown on the mountainside at high altitudes around 1500-2500 meters. The lower temperatures at higher elevations slow down coffee growth, allowing the bean to develop more complex sugars and tasting notes.
